My Opinion story

In Cross Country Mountain bike Racing, one of the most widely discussed topics is what is the best bike to have. A Full suspension or a Hardtail. Before going into my opinion on these two different styles here is the difference between them.
A full suspension bike has a Fork and a shocks this makes your ride very smooth and absorbs your ride very well making it very easy on your legs and back, it has two suspensions one under your rear wheel and one under your front.
And a Hardtail is a bike that only has a front suspension, one under your front wheel and there is none under your rear wheel you absorb all of the hits on your legs.
Although it might seem obvious that a Full suspension bike is the way to go for riding around, because who doesn't want a soft ride. Well that is for just cruising and i agree, though when it comes to racing i think the rather oposite that a Hardtail is the way to go.
A hardtail is the optimal race machine, i personally have the top of the line hardtail. Equipped with a Rockshox sid World Cup, Nox carbon composite wheels with DT swiss 240s straight pull star ratchet hubs, XX1 eagle drivetrain and a carbon RockyMountain vertex hardtail frame. The bike comes in at 18.8lbs. This is a weight that is practically impossible to achieve you can't possibly make a bike lighter than that. And if this were not a custom built bike and out their for sale it would cost around $7,000. If you don't know much in the Mtb range you would think it is crazy. And i agree though you haven't heard of the cost of a full suspension bike with the same components. For a full suspension that has the same componentry you will be paying around $9,000. And your bike will weigh a good 4 pounds heavier.
Aside from price you'd think that 4 pounds isn't a big deal, but from my personal experience when you are trying to keep your first place during the race and are going up a mile steep grade climb you would wish you had the lightest possible bike. Aside from those extra four pounds a full suspension will drain your energy, yes you read that right. It will drain your energy.
You'd ask how does that work. Well think about it every single time you do one pedal stroke you push down. That push directs to your rear wheel, and then goes straight to your shocks. Therefore part of your energy and in exact 15% goes into pushing down your shocks. Whereas if you have a hardtail 100% of your energy goes into pedaling power, because their isn't a rear shocks.
Now that you are thinking it is a obvious question why can't you lockout your fork and shocks to make it easier on you when it comes to climbs. Well that is an option. Most of the front forks have a lockout, this means that you have to reach your hand forward to manually lockout the fork before the climb and after the climb, aside from that their is another way to lockout forks and that is called remote lockout and that is when there is a button you press on your bars that lockout your suspension and this is a much easier way that comes on some bikes that will save your energy. But if you don't have the remote lockout it is a $250 service to buy it and have it assembled for you. Frankly this is only the front fork, a front fork has two sides and it is easy to lock it out. Because by tradition the left side has the air cylinder and the right side has a lockout system. But in a rear shock their is only one cylinder. And yes designers have made a way to lockout the rear shocks, but you have to reach back and lock it out once again before and after climbs and most people crash while doing this so people try to avoid it in general. So most people have their energy drained during races because of the rear shocks. Frankly their are three companies that have tried to solve this problem. Two of them have a remote lockout going to your bars so you can remotely, lock it out. But if you don't have a Scott or Trek bike then this isn't a option for you, and those who have a remote lockout say its very hard and not reliable to lockout the way that the companies designed it. And for this case a company called specialized made a shocks with a brain which detects the surface and adjusts the shocks softness, though those who use it say it is 50% of the time not right and adds a extra pound.
So far the only thing that Full suspension bikes are making you have a hard time on climbs during races and fast sprints, because it drains your energy and you can't lockout or you are likely to crash, also the action of pulling your hand back to lockout your fork is time taking. In addition i forgot to mention that lockout is not the right word, the shocks do not lockout completely only you can adjust the stiffness of it, so it is impossible to make your full suspension as rigid as a hardtail. Overall the only think that full suspensions do is make your race harder.
That is just my opinion on full suspension bikes, but if you look at what the worlds best Cross Country riders ride, they ride full suspensions and the only reason they do is because their bike are fully custom built and weigh very little having the easiest way to lock everything out. In fact the worlds best rider bike costs $16,000.
Frankly if you talk somebody who likes full suspension bikes they will tell you that they are much faster at descending down hills because the rear Shocks absorbs the hits and you go flying through the corners and berms. And no doubt they are right, that is the only good point that they can make. And still by fact full races are won on climbs, because thats where the gap happens, and even if you take in fact that full suspensions are faster on downhill, when you do the math. A hardtail is still much faster and by far the best possible race machine.

I-Movie introduction

1. After opening the websites with the given links, they all had some sort of repetition about I-Movie. Frankly each had something different, i learned how to edit videos, how to crop them, how to move them to different positions in the movie. Also it mentioned that this is considered one of the easiest movie programs out their. And has everything necessary in logical places and no unnecessary tools.
2. I have only heard the name I-Movie before and knew that it is a movie operator.
3. I didn't know that you could add photo to the program. I though you could only have videos.
4. Their are not any concerns for me with this project. Only the fact that i will only have one chance to get a photo of a race start and if i mess that up then i don't have a good way to take the photo again, to still have the same spirit in the photo.
5. I have my story plan ready, know what i am going to say, shoot, and how to arrange it.
6. I will do a race weekend. From the time we leave the house with all the equipment, pick up my friend for a ride. Time lapse the pre-ride get photos of the team relaxing, the pep talk, and the race day. Finishing with dropping off my friend and coming back home.

Earthquake story

There are multiple places in the world that receive multiple natural disasters. One of which is San Fransisco.
A Earthquake struck San francisco bay at 8:12 PTD. Although the quake could have gone much worse, their were still 2 deaths involved. The only building that was effected by the 30 second quake was the "McHenry's auto supply the building located at 2342 plume st." Said Vu. "The building partially collapsed killing two people, 6 others were injured. Four of which were in crucial condition and were transported Hayward Hospital. No serious injuries were noticed" Vu Said. The earthquake happened due to tectonic plates rubbing "affecting the city of San Fransisco all the was to South Los Angeles." Vu Said. "The quake lasted roughly 30 seconds with a big jolt in the middle." Said mike beamer, resident of Hayward. According to scientist Penny Gartz "The earthquake was a strong one, it was ranked 6.4 on the pitcher scale."
"Two minutes after the earthquake 21 fire personal 12 Police men and five american cross members came to the auto shop holding it off with ropes trying to hold the building from fully collapsing, This was achieved" Vu Said. "Although the building was held off a gas line under the building had a leak" Said Vu.
"The earthquake was under the Hayward Hills and was caused by the Hayward fault. This was the strongest point of the earthquake were it hit the 6.4 mark and making its way down as expanding toward San Fransisco bay and South Los Angeles.
Earth Quakes are the type of natural disaster that is one of the most often and the most impossible to predict. This makes it deadly and by history their are always some sort of deaths or injuries involved and that is sadly inavoidable.

Huntington story

Sometimes it is possible to get shot by a gun without even suspecting it. "53 year old Janice Jones was shot in the leg at 10:00am Wednesday morning by accident" said press control Tammy Rye.
This past Wednesday in Barstow California, Jones was shot in her trailer near Highway one, by her "Pomeranian" dog.  According to Rye "Jones was in her mobile home eating pork chops when her dog "Tombo" knocked down Jones 9mm handgun, which disarmed and fired hitting Jones in the right leg". Although this is not the best it could have gone "the bullet hit through the wall of the trailer 2inches away from the gas tank. It could have gotten much worse" said Rye.
After the event "Jones was transported to Huntington beach hospital, late transported to a medical center" said Rye. "The dog went to a animal patrol and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead" said Rye. "We will be investigating in filling a report for animal abuse on Jones" said NGO.

Nut Graf

In every story, essay, research their is a beginning middle and end. Though in Journalism the "middle" part of the story is called the Nut Graf. So basically it is just a fancy word for middle. Though not really.
In the Beginning part you have to right a hook and catch the readers attention by introducing what the article is going to be, usually this means that you give a brief idea including the major highlights that might catch the readers attention. And the Nut Meg is the "So what" part it is asking "So why did you just give me all that info, what is it for. So What" In the Nut Graf you add in the details of the story.

2. When was it built?
3. Where is it located?
4. Is it a private building or can you visit it?
5. Is there information on how much it cost to build?

The Kunsthaus Graz
#1. Colin Fournier
#2. 1997
#3. Graz Austria
#4. Museum
#5. $50,000,000
#6. Its been a project since 1960, however was put to hold by government. Later in 1997 their was permission for construction, and from the enthusiasm of Colin Fournier the building was constructed.
#7. I picked this building, because this is the only one out of the one offered that was very circular without any straight, or very little straight surfaces. In addition i like were the building is positioned. In the background you can see simple houses in front of which is a vast construction with very unique design.

Burj Al arab
#1. Atkins
#2. 1994-1999
#3. Dubai
#4. It is a public Hotel
#5. $7.8 billion
#6. This building was built as the most expensive hotel in the world, and as one of the main attractions in Dubai.
#7. I chose this building because it is one of the most expensive hotels in the world. And that in about 50 years this building might be under water. In addition it is insanely hard to build on a small unstable island.

Deacon sculptured house

#1. Charles Deaton
#2. 1963
#3. Colorado
#4. 1973- Comedian building. 1999-present somebodies house.
#5. 5.1 million
#6. This building original purpose served as a comedian place. Though now it is a private house bought for 2.7 million.
#7. I picked this building because of its original design and shape. I have never seen anything close to this, and i think it is cool that it can hold a massive amount of flowing water. Every spring from the snow. In addition has a beautiful mountain view.

Norddeutsche Landesbank
#1. Behnisch father, Behnisch son
#2. 2002
#3 Hannover Germany
#4 Commercial bank
#5. Cost restricted
#6. The building was built to be a bank.
#7. I chose this building because i like the original design. And it is hard to imagine how much thought was put in as far as balance and construction goes. I have never seen a building in this style neither in life or on the internet.

Cube Houses

#1. Piet Blom
#2. 1977
#3. Rotterdam Netherlands
#4. Civilians Houses
#5. $233 euro per cubic meter
#6. These houses were built as houses.
#7. I chose these because i find it very interesting that these houses with such design were built for serving one purpose of houses. After doing some deeper research i figured that per one slanted box their are the stories. In addition like wise the other building i have never seen anything similar to this in my life.

Sensory overload preview assignment

1. I agree with this last statement, and as for photography i believe that a lot of people go to places around the world with the camera in front of their face all of the time instead of absorbing the different environment, their should be a balance.

2. I did not have any wanting to go with my camera, i believe that it is to repetitive and i would be exhausted after just several minutes.

3. I think it would be pretty miserable for a child who works their. Always loud and nothing to do.

4. I like the one where a mother while no one is in the store is helping her daughter with what appears to be homework.
